Day 1

Arrival at Phuentsholing, Transfer to Thimphu

Morning

Welcome to Bhutan, Land of Thunder Dagon. Your journey begins through land entering- border terminal gate from phuentsholing. You will meet the respresentive from Bhutan Serenity Journeys at terminal check point.

We then transfer to Thimphu, the capital of Bhutan, passing through hills and some astounding countryside for 5 to 6 hrs.

Pedestrian Terminal Building

This famous Bhutan Gate by land, which serves as the entrance to the country of the thunder dragon, is where the journey to Bhutan starts.

Afternoon

Check-in at hotel, overnight at the hotel in Thimphu.

Day 2

Thimphu Sightseeing

Morning

Drive to visit Kuensel Phodrang to visit the Buddha Statue, 169ft, symbolizing indestructibility and one of the most religious monuments built in recent times. The view of Thimphu valley from the Kuenselphodrang is spectacular. We then visit the National Memorial Chorten: Built in honor of third King of Bhutan, Jigme Dorji Wangchuck. Elderly devotees flock throughout the day to circumambulate and turn the prayer wheels. Visit CSI market, a marketplace where you get all products made in Bhutan.

Buddha Dordenma

One of the largest Buddha statues in the world, the Buddha Dordenma is a majestic statue that overlooks the Thimphu Valley. It is a significant religious and cultural symbol, representing peace, happiness, and prosperity.

National Memorial Chorten

Built in memory of the third King of Bhutan, the National Memorial Chorten is a prominent landmark in Thimphu. It is a sacred site for prayer and meditation, attracting both locals and visitors alike

Afternoon

Drive to visit Takin Enclosure to see the National Animal of Bhutan. Visit the Art and Craft Institute, a vocational training Institute for students learning some of the 13 arts, preserving and producing skilled man power. After that Lunch at one of the local restaurant in Thimphu. Afternoon we visit the Royal Textile Museum “living art of Bhutan” which houses old Bhutanese Textiles and artifacts from the various regions and tribes of Bhutan. Take a short trip Tashicho Dzong, the fortress of glorious religion,” seat of the national government and the central monk body.

Royal Takin Preserve

The reason for declaring takin as a national animal of Bhutan on 25 November 2005 (Budorcas taxicolor) is attributed to a legend of the animal's creation in Bhutan in the 15th century by Lama Drukpa Kunley

National Institute for Zorig Chusum

A Vocational Training Institute for students learning some of the 13 arts

Royal Textile Academy

This museum introduces our history of our traditional costumes and jewellery from our forefathers.

Tashichho Dzong

also known as Thimphu Dzong, is a Buddhist monastery and fortress located in Thimphu, Bhutan.

Day 3

Thimphu to Punakha

Morning

Today, you will travel from the capital to Panukha to visit historical sites and spiritual sanctuaries. Your journey includes a visit to a unique monument constructed over the years to appreciate the arts and architecture of Bhutan. On your way, visit Dochula Pass- The 108 Chortens were built by the present Queen Mother of Bhutan, Ashi Dorji Wangmo Wangchuck to commemorate Bhutan's victory over Indian militants and to liberate the souls of the souls lost.

Dochula Pass is one of the most breathtaking and memorable spots in all of Bhutan.

Afternoon

Exlpore Punakha Dzong-Built in 1637, the dzong continues to be the winter home for the clergy, headed by Chief Abbott, the Je Khenpo. It is a stunning example of Bhutanese architecture, sitting at the fork of two rivers, portraying the image of a medieval city from a distance.

Visit Chimi Lhakhang, the “Temple of Fertility”-A 20-minute' walk across terraced fields through the village of Sopsokha. Ngawang Chogyel built the temple in the 15th century after the 'divine Madman' Drukpa Kuenlay built a small chorten there. And later evening check in at hotel.

Punakha Dzong

Absolutely stunning! Punakha Dzong is a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture, set at the meeting point of two rivers.

Chimi Lhakhang

This is a neat little hilltop temple with a really interesting legend behind it

Day 4

Punakha- Sightseeing to Paro

Morning

We then drive our journey towards Paro valley that can take upto 5 hours.

Afternoon

After having lunch at Paro Bhutanese Restaurant, we will check in at our hotel. Later evening, explore the Paro valley and market and rest for our hike tomorrow.

Day 5

Paro-Tiger's Nest Hike & Sightseeing

Morning

Morning drive up to the base camp of Paro Taktsang is the sacred Buddhist site perched on a cliffside in the upper Paro Valley. Also known as Tiger’s Nest, according to legend, the Guru Rinpoche - who introduced Buddhism to Bhutan - meditated at the site in the 8th century, riding on the back of a tigress.

Tiger's Nest Monastery

This sacred monastery clings to a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress in the 8th century.

Begin your hike to Tiger's Nest, a challenging yet rewarding trek that takes you through pine forests and along rocky paths. Along the way, marvel at panoramic views of the Paro valley below and the surrounding Himalayan mountains.

Afternoon

Visit Ta Dzong, built in 1651 as a watchtower and in 1968 inaugurated as Bhutan’s National Museum. The collection includes art, relics, religious thangkha paintings, postage stamps, coins and handicrafts, as well as a small natural history collection. Then walk down a short hillside trail to visit Rinpung Dzong (Paro Dzong), built in 1646, and now housing the offices of the district administration and Paro’s monk body. Overnight at the hotel in Paro.

Paro Ta-Dzong Museum

Perched on top of a hill overlooking Paro Valley, the museum boasts a wide collection of treasures and artifacts reflecting Bhutan's mythical history.

Day 6

Paro to Phuentsholing

Morning

After breakfast, drive to Phuentsholing enroute chunzom- Tri-junction (Thimphu, Phuentsholing & Paro). Then drive towards Phuentsholing route and you will find very pleasant with numerous scenic spots enroute.

Afternoon

Just before, arriving Phuentsholing, visit Kharbandi Goemba, the monastery built in 1967. It houses the large and attractive statues of Sakyamuni, Shabdrung Ngawang Namgyal and Guru Rinpoche. Overnight at the hotel in Phuentsholing.

Perched atop a picturesque hill, Rinchending (Kharbandi) Goemba commands a stunning view of the Phuentsholing town below.

Day 7

Phuentsholing - Departure

Morning

This famous Bhutan Gate by land, which serves as the entrance to the country of the thunder dragon, is where the journey to Bhutan starts.
