Day 1

Arrival & Thimphu's Modern Royalty

Morning

Upon arrival at Paro International Airport (PBH), you will be greeted by your private guide and driver. The journey begins with a scenic drive to the capital city of Thimphu (approx. 1.5 hours).

Unique Experience: Instead of a standard check-in, you'll be taken to a private, traditional Bhutanese farmhouse for a specially prepared "welcome lunch." This allows you to taste authentic cuisine and experience local hospitality in an exclusive setting.

Afternoon

Check into your luxury lodge, such as the Six Senses Thimphu or Amankora Thimphu. After a brief rest, visit the majestic Tashichho Dzong, the seat of Bhutan's government and the King's office. Your guide will arrange for a special viewing of the flag ceremony.

Day 2

The Heart of Bhutan & a Culinary Journey

Morning

Begin the day with a visit to the Buddha Dordenma, a colossal bronze statue of Buddha offering a breathtaking panoramic view of the Thimphu Valley. This is followed by a private guided meditation session at a secluded monastery, providing a moment of peace and reflection.

One of the largest Buddha statues in the world, the Buddha Dordenma is a majestic statue that overlooks the Thimphu Valley. It is a significant religious and cultural symbol, representing peace, happiness, and prosperity.

Unique Experience: Participate in a private Bhutanese cooking class with a local chef. You will learn to prepare traditional dishes like Ema Datshi (chili and cheese stew) and Phaksha Paa (pork stew). You will then enjoy the dishes you prepared for lunch.

Afternoon

Drive to Punakha (approx. 3 hours), crossing the high Dochula Pass (3,100 m). Enjoy a hot tea or coffee with a spectacular view of the Himalayas from the pass before descending into the warm Punakha Valley.

Evening

Arrive at your lodge, such as COMO Uma Punakha. Take a guided walk through the surrounding rice paddies to the serene Mo Chhu River. Dinner will be a private riverside setup with views of the illuminated Punakha Dzong.

Day 3

Punakha's Splendor & a Rustic Hot Stone Bath

Morning

After breakfast, visit the magnificent Punakha Dzong, considered the most beautiful fortress in Bhutan. Your guide will provide a detailed history and context, followed by a walk across the longest suspension bridge in the country.

Absolutely stunning! Punakha Dzong is a masterpiece of Bhutanese architecture, set at the meeting point of two rivers.

Unique Experience: Instead of a typical hike, embark on a gentle trek through terraced rice fields to Khamsum Yulley Namgyal Chorten, a beautiful temple perched on a hill. Enjoy a luxurious packed picnic lunch on a private terrace with a stunning valley view.

Afternoon

Experience a truly unique and relaxing tradition: the Bhutanese Hot Stone Bath. Day 4

Return to Paro & The Iconic Tiger's Nest

Morning

After breakfast, drive back to Paro (approx. 4 hours). Upon arrival, check into a world-class property such as Amankora Paro or Six Senses Paro.

Tiger's Nest Monastery

This sacred monastery clings to a cliff 900 meters above the Paro valley. According to legend, Guru Rinpoche flew here on the back of a tigress in the 8th century.

Unique Experience: This afternoon is dedicated to the famous hike to Tiger's Nest Monastery (Paro Taktsang). Your guide will lead you on a private, leisurely-paced trek, with stops for water and rest. A private lunch with breathtaking views is arranged at a café on the mountainside.

Afternoon

Descend from the monastery and visit the ancient Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan's oldest and most sacred temples.

Evening

Celebrate your last night in Bhutan with a special farewell dinner. Your lodge can arrange a private candlelit dinner in a unique location, such as a traditional-style library or a secluded garden.
